Some of you have submitted reviews as part of our Summer Reading program. Here are some of the books you’re reading and what you think of them
Austin B. read The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan. Austin wrote, “I would recommend this book to fans of Rick Riordan and Egyptian mythology, I would also recommend this because it’s humorous and entertaining and it also incorporates a good plot.”
Lydia V. read Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson. Lydia would “recommend this book to a friend because the subject matter is very interesting and many people have not heard about the Yellow Fever epidemic that hit Philadelphia in 1793.” (Ms. Sara also recommends this book!)
Bethany W. read Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli, another one of Ms. Sara’s favorites! Bethany said, “I would recommend this book to a friend because it’s fun and wacky!” The staff at IVPL also give this two thumbs up to this local author who has tons of great books to try!
Lindsey S. read Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton L. Stewart and she would recommend this book to a friend because “it’s full of adventure and mystery.” Ms. Sara adds that it’s the first book in a great series!
Sarah S. read Cut by Patricia McCormick- a Reading Olympics book (for more info on Reading Olympics go here). Sarah thought she would recommend this book to a friend because “it shows what some teenagers deal with and involves self-esteem issues.”
