I would like to say thank you to everyone who came to the No School Crafternoon and the October TAB meeting on Monday.
Here are some of the highlights of that meeting:
This week is Teen Read Week. For Teen Read Week, we launched two contests:
-Newsletter naming contest – we having a contest to rename our YA newsletter. We are accepting entries until November 3. The winner will receive two passes to see Hunger Games: Catching Fire at the Regal in Quakertown.
-We have a Teen Read Bingo until November 24. Stop by the YA Room for the form and which contain an explanation of the Bingo. The grand prize for the raffle is a signed book. Everyone who participates will be invited to the Teen Read Party.
-October 25 (5:30 to 7:30) is our Halloween Party in the community room. Costumes are encouraged.
-We have an all ages Aerobic Dance Club the first Friday (Nov. 1 and Dec. 6) of every month. The lessons will be held in the community room and will begin at 4 PM. We will learn dances like Cotton Eye Joe and the YMCA.
-November 16 (11:00 to 4:00) is International Games @ Your Library. We will be hosting games in the community room. We are having board, card and Wii games during this time. If you can think of any other activities for this day, please feel free to share them with me.
-We don’t have dates for December activities but they will be earlier in December before the holiday rush begins.
Early next year, we will have a talent night. This will be an opportunity for you and your friends to showcase your talents.
November is National Novel Writing Month. I hope a group of you will join me to take this nationwide writing challenge. We will have a kick-off session on November 2 at the library.
