New Books – 3/27/14

Here are the new books for this week. Most of this week’s new books are additions to the non-fiction collection at IVPL.

We have three new health resources on the shelves.

Pure Grit  is filled with accounts of WWII nurses. Searching for Sarah Rector  and Earthrise are both biographies. In 1914,  Sarah Rector went missing and the search for a girl who was deemed the “The Richest Black Girl in America” ensued in Oklahoma.  Earthrise is an autobiography of Edgar Mitchell, an astronaut who went to the moon.

Branded by the Pink Triangle is a Stonewall Honor Book for Children and YA Literature. We added the audio book version of Florence Nightingale: The Angel of the Crimea  and today we are adding the print version. If you are a user of Game Factory 2, Game Creation for Teens  is a great guide for you.

We have added four fiction titles to the collection. Elle Cosimano’s urban thriller named Nearly Gone is described as a mixture between the television shows Bones and Fringe. The Other Normals is novel about a role-playing teen named Perry that gets shipped off to summer camp. It is also one of the final novels of the late Ned Vizzini.
