Andregg  explores the growing population of the world and the effects it has on the planet. Bombs over Bikini: The World’s First Nuclear Disaster  by Connie Goldsmith focus on the nuclear testing on the Bikini and Enewetak Atolls done by the US military. They Call Me a Hero: A Memoir of My Youth  tells the life story of Daniel Hernandez, the intern who helped saved Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ life when she was shot at an event. Halley Bondy outlines tasks and experiences you should try before you graduate. If you are interested.


New Fiction 

Scowler  by Daniel Kraus is a chilling tale of Ry trying to protect his family from his abusive father. The book-on-cd of this title has received numerous awards. This is recommended for mature horror readers.

For a lighter read, pick up Drop In  the first book in “Tony Hawk’s 900 Revolution” series. This action-packed series blends a text with a graphics. It follows teens who join the mysterious 900 revolution.
