BLAST is an Emergency Care and Safety Institute program designed by the American Academy of Pediatrics. The seminar includes six lessons with topics including: “Are You Ready to Care for Children?”, As They Grow: Ages & Stages, Before Saying “Yes” to a Job, House Rules and Routines, Safety Rules, Diapering, Bottle Feeding, Spoon Feeding Baby/Toddler, Burping a Baby, Crying, Preparing for Bed, Behavior Problems, Discipline, Games & Songs, Sitter’s Busy Bag, and much more.

BLAST with PMCST is unlike any other babysitting course in the area because each participant will also get comprehensive training and practice in Pediatric First Aid, Child/Infant CPR, and choking relief techniques so they can feel comfortable and confident if ever faced with a real-life emergency while babysitting, or anytime! First Aid topics include: What is an Emergency?, Calling 911 for Help, Breathing Difficulties, Burns, Diabetic Emergencies, Diarrhea, Dog Bites, Electrocution, Eye Injuries, Fever, Head Injuries, Insect Stings, Nosebleed, Tooth Knocked Out, Vomiting, and much more.

Instructor: Amanda Gehringer has nine years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, was a Police/Fire/EMS 911 Dispatcher, and is the owner and lead Instructor for Precious Minutes CPR and Safety Training. Amanda is a mother of two with extensive babysitting and childcare experience.

Teen Movie Tuesday: Ouijia: Origin of Evil (PG-13) – Tuesday, October 31 at 6 pm

A widow making ends meet as a psychic finds a Ouija board that enables her to talk to the dead. While it’s great for business, the board also allows a vengeful ghost to possess her 9-year-old daughter.

Tween & Teen Book Bingo – Wednesday, November 1 at 6 pm

Join us for an evening of bingo with great books as prizes. Ages 12-18

Board Game Night – Friday, November 3 at 6 pm

Bring your family and friends to try out different games and play some of your favorites. Everyone is welcome but children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
